Morgue Photo Case Resolved

This class action lawsuit against the Hamilton County, Ohio, Morgue for unauthorized photographs settled for $8 million. Read the Joint Statement from Stan Chesley, Al Gerhardstein, and Hamilton County announcing the $8 million settlement.

This case has two subclasses of victims. On December 16, 2008 a hearing on the proposed settlement distribution to family units in Sub-Class One was held, during which the Settlement Master presented to the court her ability to make partial and full distributions on December 31, 2008. Distribution to Sub-class Two will begin after claims letters from victims are received in February 2009.
